HEAD OF SUPPLY CHAIN

JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for the supply of products essential for our company’s operations. He or she will strategize to find the most cost-effective deals and suppliers. The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for discovering the best ways to minimize our procurement expenses, as well as managing their assigned staff.  The Head of Supply Chain oversees the Vendor Management Inventory department.  Manages the relationship between the customer and the supply chain. The Head of Supply Chain manages the team that analyzes customer’s historic data, marketing and account trends to forecast inventory needs and track correct cross-dock inventory levels with supply partners. 

The Head of Supply Chain is also responsible for keeping the VP of Sourcing apprised of all potential issues as they arise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  • Lead and develop all procurement and vendor management inventory staff
  • Oversee pricing functions managing gross margins and volumes.  Establish a cost matrix for each supply partner including all aspects of cost of goods.
  • Work directly with business development team establishing regular communication of Market Fresh Produce cost and secure grower support and pricing on all contracts and RFPs
  • Direct and train Vendor Management Inventory staff
  • Establish and monitor monthly reports tracking performance across all categories and vendors
  • In collaboration with the National Director of Business Development, create a year-round “Hot Buy” or “Spot Buy” strategy for selected national accounts. Seek out and execute ad opportunities.
  • Create a geographically based business solution review schedule utilizing designated staff in all regions of service
  • Foster open communication within the category management team, empowering each member to meet daily objectives
  • Present sourcing department performance data at the monthly management review meetings
  • Monitor markets, in conjunction with the MFP category management team, grower partners, and vendors, to establish weekly trends in the market. Create and distribute weekly market update reports.
  • Establish a daily “huddle” meeting with assigned staff to communicate, assign & confirm daily objectives
  • Exercise independent judgment and facilitate efficient cost savings initiatives and processes
  • Search out grower partners to allow MFP to price and attract new programs and new accounts
  • Work with marketing to aid in any new product and promotional objectives to promote MFP brand
  • Oversee logistics to find improved ways to deliver our products to customers and meet on time requirements
  • Direct the on-site inspections at supply partners to ensure MFP specs and SOPs are being followed

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Staff – Accounts Receivable position is responsible for managing accounts receivable and collections.

The Accounting Staff – Accounts Receivable position is also responsible for keeping the Accounting Supervisor – Accounts Receivable apprised of all potential issues as they arise.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  • Responsible for managing accounts receivables and collections, as well as tracking, identifying and following up on past-due balances
  • Process paperwork in a timely manner including, but not limited to, invoicing (including electronic invoicing), billing and credits
  • Record deposits received and apply to customer balances in accounting system
  • Enter data for receipts and miscellaneous bills
  • Keep organized files and records of necessary documents
  • Assist with answering multi-line phone system
  • Assist with the packaging rebate process

VENDOR MANAGED INVENTORY SPECIALIST

 JOB SUMMARY

The Vendor Managed Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing & replenishing the produce inventory at our customer distribution centers and cross-dock supply partners. The process begins with the placement of an order and involves all aspects through the receipt of final payment for that order. The Vendor Managed Inventory Specialist will become familiar with our customer’s organization, product needs, processes and procedures. They will analyze historic sales data & gain knowledge of produce growing regions to forecast daily inventory needs. They will be responsible for ordering, tracking and reporting correct cross-dock inventory levels from supply partners to our internal accounting team. Accurate forecasting of future sales data will be reported to supply partners to ensure product availability for upcoming orders. Responsibilities also include compiling and reporting future weekly sales data to our internal pricing committee to track expected weekly margins. Communication is a key aspect of the daily work flow, the VMI Specialist is expected to report all potential inventory issues as they arise to the Director of Vendor Managed Inventory.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  •  Timely and accurate fulfillment of daily replenishment orders for customers
  • Maintain strong communication with our internal procurement team, and the customers we serve. 
  • Collect sales data & manage weekly reports to track & improve key Vendor Managed Inventory performance metrics
  • Accurate forecasting of sales data sent to pricing committee and supply partners
  • Utilize available data, reports, and other resources to remain knowledgeable on our customers inventory Management system
  • Identify the most timely, efficient, and cost-effective strategies for servicing customer inventory needs
  • Maintain a cross-dock inventory level spreadsheet for product delivering to supply partner facilities to ensure all purchase orders in & out match
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with key customer contacts, particularly warehouse functions including, quality assurance, distribution shipping/receiving departments, & buyers/merchandisers.
  • Report on daily Vendor Managed Inventory performance metrics
  • Assist in sourcing product, logistics, and other procurement initiatives
  • Effectively handle the day-to-day challenges that are presented in the produce industry

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Intern is responsible for promoting the Market Fresh premium produce brand, as well as support the ongoing implementation of Market Fresh Produce strategic marketing plan, goals, and objectives.

The Marketing Intern is also responsible for keeping the Director of Marketing apprised of all potential issues as they arise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  • Management of all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc
  • Responsible for promoting all the Market Fresh premium produce brand through industry ads, press releases,
  • and market updates.
  • Overall assistance to the Director of Marketing with tradeshows, presentations, and analysis of data.
  • Assist with packaging design
  • Oversight and maintenance of Market Fresh website
  • Assist with new and departing employee tasks
  • Assist in marketing the Tyler Phipps Memorial Scholarship
  • Assist in event planning and company Christmas party
  • Support with special projects as they arise, including running errands as needed for the projects
