REGIONAL PRODUCE SALES MANAGER – SOUTHEASTERN REGION

JOB SUMMARY

The Regional Produce Sales Manager is responsible for generating new customers, building customer relationships and driving new business across the Southeastern region by leveraging our full suite of product services related to fresh produce.  The sales manager will strategically target companies in Food Service, Hospitality, and Restaurants within the Southeastern market, to promote and sell MFP products and services in accordance with organizational sales policies and processes.

The Regional Produce Sales Manager is also responsible to report potential issues to the Senior Director of Sales/Marketing and Senior Director of Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  • Primary contact internally and externally for all customers assigned to this region
  • Seek out and develop new leads both retail and food service clients as well as other opportunities to expand our sales/profits
  • Monitor in report form, sales by customer and region on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, looking for positive and/or negative trends, along with supporting action plans.
  • Responsible for driving all sales efforts by promoting the Market Fresh Produce branded products within the assigned territory, or as directed by Senior Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with new and existing customers
  • Responsible to support all ongoing Market Fresh Produce strategic marketing plans, margin goals and business objectives as directed by management
  • Attend and support any and all approved Trade Expos, as well as Customer expo events as directed by Management
  • Support any special projects as they arise and are assigned
  • Continually monitor client satisfaction, and document feedback to be shared immediately with sourcing, operations, finance and management as appropriate
  • Work closely with sourcing and marketing to oversee sale sheets and ongoing marketing presentations
  • Prospect new business, combining knowledge of prospective customers with best practices to gain access to key stakeholders
  • Independently qualify potential sales opportunities to include the full scope of customer potential
  • Lead face-to-face meetings and proposals with customers at all levels.
  • Design and develop tailored solutions to customers focused on delivering value and supporting the customer’s business.
  • Engage internal resources on pricing strategy and account implementation plans to ensure customer service and operational excellence.
  • Engage in self-development and training opportunities, both internal and external

CATEGORY MANAGER

DESCRIPTION The Category Manager is responsible for negotiating a competitive cost of goods in his or her assigned produce lines, developing and maintaining rapport with growers, shippers, and other vendors, as well as creating logistical efficiencies throughout the supply chain.    

The Category Manager is also responsible for keeping the Director of Procurement apprised of all potential issues as they arise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  • Maintain daily contact with customers of various sizes, building relationships, problem solving and assessing
  • their produce needs
  • Assist in sourcing product, packaging, logistics, and growing sales
  • Process paperwork i.e. passing’s, PO, etc.
  • Ensure suppliers meet the quality and design standards for all products
  • Exercise sound independent judgment to facilitate efficient, cost saving operations
  • Ensure quality and on-time delivery, troubleshoot and provide solutions to logistical concerns
  • Source carriers and products in order to accommodate each client’s needs
  • Handle the day-to-day challenges that are presented in the transportation industry
  • Play a three-dimensional role involving buying, selling and logistical problem solving
  • Handle and administer client and company information as needed
  • Assist in company growth in sales and procurement initiatives
  • Assist the Director of Procurement, as requested

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

DESCRIPTION Market Fresh Produce, a leading produce company, is seeking a qualified Staff Accountant.   The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the accounting team with the month-end close process, various account reconciliations, AR/AP as needed and other miscellaneous projects as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor.

  • Responsible for assisting with month-end close, ensuring accurate reporting while meeting company deadlines
  • Responsible for preparing and entering journal entries for multiple reporting entities, ensuring accuracy of numbers and timely reporting
  • Responsible for assisting with the AP/AR process as needed; including but not limited to, assisting with the review and follow up of aged balances, entering supplier invoices, billing and adequately researching and resolving balance discrepancies within a timely manner
  • Responsible for assisting co-workers from various departments and/or locations with financial analysis, AP/AR and other various tasks as needed
  • Assist the Director of Finance with special projects as needed
  • Responsible for assisting the operations and accounting departments
  • Keep organized files and records of necessary documents
  • Assist with answering multi-line phone system
